I have the chance to buy a setup consisting of a Fender Rumble 350 Bass Amp Head & Fender BXR 115 cabinet. I currently play through a Peavey 210TX Bass Combo Amp with a Peavey 115 cabinet. The peavey lacks wattage and power to me. Any input and opinions on the fender setup ( tone, power, weight, etc ) would be greatly appreciated! It's being sold for $350. And I'm playing a Fender American Standard Precision. :D

Welcome to the Forum JJ. The gear you are asking about, if in good condition should work well for you. I like Peavey amps so I can't slam them. When ever my gear wasn't powerful enough to reach stage volume I would let the sound person mic it up through the PA. A 350 watt SS Fender head is light weight, the 115 cabinet is not lol. If you have some muscle it shouldn't be a problem. There are many knowledgeable amplifier and guitar folks on this Forum hopefully some will respond. Have fun here!

Hi Jake! Good first post; great question, and welcome to the Fender Lounge. :)

I own the Rumble 350 head and it's a totally powerful tone-monster! It's very conservatively rated and feels more like 500 watts to me with plenty of good clean headroom. The overdrive is excellent and quite versatile. These were being closed out recently at major e-tailers for less than $300 new/shipped. I'd say a used Rumble 350 in excellent condition is worth about $250 tops.

I'm not familar with the BRX 115 cab. I'd examine it closely and give it a good listen first. Find out what year it was made. Is the BRX line from 20 years ago??? Maybe early 1990's or so.

One thing that's nice is that if both 115 cabs are 8ohms, you can use both of them, just as long as they sound good together!

Good luck Jake!

Thanks for the replies! The bxr cabs were made in the 90s and from the few I seen for sale online (eBay, Craigslist etc) they were being presented as 300 watt cabs. I've been pointed towards another set up for sale locally it's a Fender Bassman 400h head and Fender Pro 410 cab. I know they were made as heads and combos but is Anyone familiar with the heads? The guy is asking $395 for the two. :D

Would much rather have the newer D-Class Rumble 350. Better power & tone. The Bassman Pro 410, however, is a fabulous cab. Very open; airy, and natural sounding. Check and make sure, but I am pretty sure they are Eminence Neo 10's in that cab.

So buy both. Keep the Rumble 350 & 410 Pro. Dump the old solid state Bassman 400 & BXR 115 along with the Peavey gear.

 SCORE!
