It's always sad when someone disappears. My condolences.
Yet, when someone lives to be 94 and active for most of that time, that is something to be happy about, even in the sadness. When people I care about die (and it happens more and more often), I try to mourn the death, but celebrate the life that was lived.

The service was very nice. Lots of stories to tell about the man. He was a WWII veteran and the Honor Guard was present.
I really, really appreciate the kind words and well wishes. Truly, truly thank y'all.

So sorry my friend. At least you experienced his love and a part of him is in you today.
I offer my deepest condolences.

I'm glad the service went well jeebus , reminiscing about a loved one and relating anecdotes about them at the service can really do a lot to lessen the sense of loss.Back in October,I lost a favourite uncle of mine who was the person who sparked my interest in music and especially guitar. At his service my cousin-who is also a gifted musician-sang a song that my uncle had wrote and recorded and the local school glee club were in the choir loft and sang their town's official song that too was written and recorded by my uncle. All that combined to make saying goodbye to him a much easier task,I imagine that was the way it turned out with your uncle's service too.God Bless.
