I'm not buying one to protect the guitar, I'm buying one to stop the guitar wearing grooves into my forearm after 5 minutes playing time.

That's always been a beef of mine with Teles. My forearm would be pretty sore after a 3-hour night. Eventually I picked up a 90's Hamer Slammer Tele Copy. It has a 1/4" round over all the way around, front and back. It's amazing what a difference that makes.

Just that little bit is all it takes.

Chromeface once posted the website of a luthier who does Teles with Strat contours including a smaller lower horn.

The "slab body" of the Tele never bothered me (maybe my forearms are just tougher? :P  )...I kinda prefer it over my Strat...that edge acts as an anchor for my picking/strumming hand.

Those edge guards always remind of of the old Bigsby-built and Bigsby-customized guitars from the 1950's, which had those decorative and functional edge pieces attached to the front...

Hey ya'll....if Grosh doesn't have copyrights on that body design, there's something that Fender might consider doing. What are your Telethoughts on this design??

Don's Tele bodies are lighter and slightly smaller. Their lower horn is sleek and sharp like a Strat.

Gerry Melancon's Tele designs are similar except the lower cutaway is not as sharp and sleek as Grosh does.

Checking out Austin City Limits with Jack White and he's rocking! On a lot of songs he's playing a Tele with some kind of extra binding or something on the top. Anyone know what it is? Kinda looks like a noseguard on an 80's skateboard. Is it to keep it from getting prematurely relic'ed up top?

The whammy bar appears to have a flat finish. I'm not sure with the lighting but it looks like a flat white. I like it.
