I like the modern C on my Am Deluxe Strat best.

I prefer the Modern C, but I'd like to try the soft V.

Like Ceri, I tend to be pretty adaptable to a lot of different neck shapes. But if I had to choose 1, I would say a soft V. I have small hands, and it feels comfortable to have that little bit of curve taken out of the edges.

Modern C fits my bill. IMO, it's the most versatile neck shape. Perfect for playing rhythm as well as lead.

The Clapton neck carve is my go-to preference for all the reasons I've articulated in these pages over the past nearly 7 years. It's the best neck carve in the line.

Basses: I love the 51 U or 55 soft V equally. (vintage specs) Those would be my ideal. The 57 thick C is what I'm playing now. A little wider neck than I like. ( C width instead of B) However, vintage radius and frets are more important than the shape generally.

Guitars: It's definitely the soft V with vintage specs.

Thick N' Chunky "U" and hefty "C" P-Bass necks for me. Could never feel comfortable with smaller necks despite having average-sized hands myself. I just like the grip of the larger necks. They feels more... powerful.

Early 60's or the SRV. But the modern C is fine in a pinch.

C, thin depth wide fretboard, like my Fender Precision bass, a Squire model made in Mexico 1994 Image
my stratopartster has a similar C neck but it could be a little thinner/faster lol. Ultimately since I could palm a basketball, neck size/shape doesn't matter. I agree with Ceri and Jah S.. For those who have watched the Jimi Hendrix part at the end of "Woodstock" you know about hand size relative to neck shape/size 8)

I thought the same thing. Every scenario that ran through my head was a bad one, though.

I've never been fond of the modern C neck carve so its future doesn't concern me in the least. I save the speculation and simply wait for a reply from Brad's RH lady.

I'm with you on that. I'm more worried that with all the recent financial decisions they have been making. That they may take it one step further and make the true Vintage Reissues CS only and make all the rest of the offerings simply cosmetic throwbacks like the lower end stuff. With things like modern wiring, pick ups and neck specs.

There is a list of Fender product I will not buy simply because they like to put out "classic" or "vintage" style instruments with things like medium jumbo frets, modern radius necks, and modern neck profiles. Not to mention poly finish.

Though as a bassist primarily I'm used to getting the shaft when it comes to what Fender offers. So even if it does happen it just means my days of buying new production run models is over. There's still a healthy used market and there's always the CS.

Big hands need a big neck. I haven't found any thick necks in my country and the SRV Yellow tribute I built is a bit tiny for my hands.. I guess the old thick Nocaster neck and the D-neck are the right ones for me.
