Commemorating Martin's 1,000,000th Guitar, limited to 50.

Numbered In Sequence, and signed by Chas. F. Martin IV:

Martin D-100 Deluxe

Image

List Price: $114,999.00 !!   (but it does come with a Geib style HSC w/ Black Leather Exterior & Black Velvet Interior)

To be sure, it's a real Beauty !!

Still, you'd have to hire Private Security to escort you to/from your climate-controlled house !!

cheers!

And even for that price, Martin couldn't add a properly intoned bridge.

never mind Fender's pricing strategy, they're outdone PRS's pricing with that one AND managed to make it look even more showy.

Why would anyone buy a guitar they'd be frightened to play in case they scratched it?

Totally agree !

But, I have to tell you that my USA-made (Nazareth, PA) Martin DC-1E is just an amazing accoustic guitar !!

Image

No longer made (Martin couldn't make a profit at it's mid-level pricepoint), it has a solid Sitka Spruce Top and X-bracing w/ solid Sapele Sides/Back. An Indian Rosewood fingerboard bonded to a Stratbond Neck (which I love), and Fishman electronics.

I picked it up as NOS for South of $800 (from a Ma & Pa which was closing shop) but now see them going used for $1300+.

The Tone is amazing, true Martin, Bright yet Robust. And it just fits my hand like a glove ! 8)

cheers!

Here is the back, in case the front wasn't decorative enough for you.

Too much bling!!
Martin makes a great guitar, but for that much money, I'd be afraid to even play it ...

Funny money  I read a news piece today that some airlines are offering private cabins to 25k+ ticket holders complete with butler and maid. Going after the rappers/drug dealers money perhaps?

If I had that kind of money,I'd much rather spend it on a pre-WW II 000-18,D-28,D-45 etc. that way I would have the fabulous original tone that put Martin at the top of the list for having the highest quality acoustic guitars .

For $25k it damned well better come with it's own private Emergency Exit and Slide !!

The best I can do is $18.5k... that was the price of each of our Business Elite Class tickets (Round Trip) to Melbourne Australia back in '11 when the PGA invited Mrs. LMN and I to be their guests at the Presidents Cup. Business Elite gives you one of those Private Pods w/ fully reclining Seat/Bed, Entertainment Center w/ Internet and HBO, Pajamas, Robe and Slippers, Toiletry Kit, Full Gourmet Dinner (w/ Wine, Cocktails and a real steaknife !). Arrived 27 hrs. after leaving our Front Door - Fresh as a Daisy !!

Then they put us up in the Crown Towers Hotel (where the Players stayed) for 14 days... all expenses paid. Had to be a $60k trip at least ! All courtesy of the PGA !

It was Wonderful - the trip of a Lifetime, but I'd just as soon have had the money !!!

Sure hope they invite us to the '15 Presidents Cup in Incheon, South Korea at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea !! 8)

cheers!

At that price you can afford to buy two!

(lest you break a string in mid-song while performing a live duet with Buffy St. Marie or Joni Mitchell at Carnegie Hall).

Is it subject to The Lacey Act?
