Yay or Nay?

Great producer (Hall & Oates, Nazz, others)

Just heard a bootleg where he sounded amazing, but he also produced.

What say the FF???

I did enjoy his stint with NAZZ though.

There was a heated exchange of insults between Rundgren and Lennon in the music press. I think Rundgren just came across as bitter and jealous, Lennon attributed it to Rundgren being upset that he (Lennon) didn't recognise Rundgren when they were at an event together.

Lennon also referred to him as "Turd Runtgreen" which made me laugh out loud.

I remember hearing this in late 1968. I thought it was pretty good and the ladies liked it. Todd Rundgren is talented, I wish him well.

I have liked Todd since the mid 70's. He is always trying something new, and because of that he is sometimes ahead of the times. It is amasing to me that he has managed to always be around after all these years. Turd Rundgren is funny!

The whole Liv Tyler/Liv Rundgren thing boggles the mind, but his engineering and production skills make me think of him as the American equivalent of Jeff Lynne.

Anyone managing to make a living as a musician for this long has earned some respect. He's done better than most of us. I certainly don't feel qualified to judge him.

As for his name, I am of the opinion that making fun of someone over their given name warrants a trip to the headmaster's office. Then again, he named his own son "Rebop".

Todd Rundgren is also a big time multi-instrumentalist and plays darn near everything. Look at some of his old album liner notes and track listings.

Example:
Drums - Todd Rundgren
Bass - Todd Rundgren
Guitar - Todd Rundgren
Vocals - Todd Rundgren
Keyboards - Todd Rundgren
Backing Vocals - Todd Rundgren
Horns - Todd Rundgren

Writer/Arranger - Todd Rundgren
Engineer - Todd Rundgren
Producer - Todd Rundgren

Dweezil was the lucky one. His sisters Moon Unit and Diva Muffin less so. Too bad Frank Zappa is dead, cause he should be caned each time his daughter became the butt of a "muff diving" joke.

So yeah, Rebop Rundgren is pretty mild compared to that.

If I beget a son, I think I'll name him Jerome Percival Jesus.
