For financial reasons, so the crisis in France is not over!, I sold my Strat and since a large void is felt.
I do not think we could attached to a guitar, but I miss her!
I dream to buy a Strat, god knows when, but I know I would possess another!
Here, the prices are prohibitive, both new and second hand, but left me to pay a Standart Mex secondhand, I have another!
I should see a psychiatrist?

No, a guitar can be a highly personal thing, much more than a material possession. I think I would feel the same way if I had to sell my Telecaster...

My condolences!

By the way, your signature line apologizes for your English--no need to do that! Your English is better than my French... :)

I have an old charnel that I dearly love. It was my first really good guitar. It has never let me down. It is never out of tune. I grew up with that guitar and learned with it. Lots of good memories. He11, my wife even understands why I love it so much. I feel like I'm cheating when I play one of my other electric guitars. But she understands. Always.
Wow. That sounds so corny but it is all true. I'm a corny guy.
By the way. I am sure my southern English and poor grammar is far worse than anything you might type. No one really cares here. Good folks.

First off, sympathies for your current misery... this too shall pass !

But in Life, Health is important... People are important... Giving and receiving Love are important.

Compared to this, guitars are NOT important (no matter how much you 'Love' them).

Such things merely help us pass our allotted Time.

They give us a sense of Joy to be sure, but such Joy is always fleeting.

Life is truly all about LOSS !

You lose your Youth, You lose your Looks, You lose your Loved Ones, You lose your Health...

Some day, when you're sitting in some Nursing Home, not remembering the person who comes to see you weekly calling you "Grandpa", all you'll have left are the memories of the things that you had !!

Memories are the Wealth of Life !

We all start out full of Youthful Enthusiasm, taking on the Road ahead with select plans as if the road were straight and predictable.

In Truth, the Road we all travel turns and twists, is full of Blind Curves that we never get to see around but merely adapt to as they approach.

To quote John Lennon: "Life is what happens while you're making other Plans... !!"

There is a Stratocaster in your future !

Believe this !!

But until that day comes, bathe in the memories of the Strat that you once owned and lost !

It will steel you for the next curve ahead.

Be Well and Bon Chance Mon Ami !!

cheers!

Thank you friends, especially Lightnin MN for his message of great comfort I strongly share the philosophy in the gloom or is my country.

Since then, we have had to put my parents in retirement home for 4 200euro/month with 35,78euro of social assistance, they still work.

Here, a person who has never work is supported fully, regardless of its origin!

People without jobs, are faring better than us who work!

I hope to have an another Stratocaster, in the meantime, I test in stores for the sole purpose of keep a few feelings of these great guitars.

You know, it is difficult to speak as the site of French, the expression seems controlled!

Thanks again for your posts,

I've bought and sold tons of gear over the years but usually when I sell something it's because it's just not "doing it" for me so that heartache is not usually present. On one occasion back when I was younger I do recall having to sell a guitar to raise money which I would have preferred to keep if possible; a Sigma DR41, a copy of a Martin D41. It was one of the early Japan models, possibly a '71 or a '72. Can't remember. For some reason I think it may also have been rare, too. I sold it to a friend on the condition that he give me first dibs if he ever decided to sell it. He assured me he would never sell it and he still has it to this day. For years afterward I would feel a pang whenever I saw it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You should see a barkeeper - they do a better job, for less.
If there are any centimes left, you should see a professeur d'anglais.
