Hi, I was just wondering about a guitarist that I discovered in 2006-2007. Not sure how long he had been on the "scene" at that point but he was white and "youngish". I am almost certain he was hired on as a job basically to just play fender guitars or gibson guitars, thought he was dedicated to just testing guitars for good tone, or maybe testing prototypes. I remember thinking how sweet it would be to have a paying job that just lets you sit around and play guitars all day. Is there any way I can get a past and present day employee list, or does this ring a bell for anyone, anyone have any idea what job i'm talking about here?? or who this person is?

He's amusing for a while, in the same way that a puppy chewing your slippers is amusing. Just after a short time it becomes tiresome and you need to bat it on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper and tell it to behave.

Haha yea where people hold them like axes and uses drums as shields and fight to the death. Maybe battle was the wrong word, I dont mean dueling banjos, I dont know whats out there so I dont have the right words.

I suppose you mean a competition? I sort of guessed that, the headache image was more a comment on the concept of music as a competition rather than an art form.

Still no idea who the guitarist is though. At least the thread's getting bumped for you though!

Be cool if the Israelis and the arabs could settle their differences through Guitar Battles. The US could referee, and stuff.

Was the guy a Thai named Jack something-or-other?

If it was a real guitar battle, like with axes and stuff, what would you choose for your weapon? I'd choose a nonchambered Les Paul!

Guitar Center has the King of the Blues contest every year. I don't remember who won in 2006. If that's the contest, you could search youtube and probably come up with it.

Just wandering a little off topic here but has anyone who ever won a competition like this ever gone on to create any worthwhile music?
