Right now I'm trying to learn "Barracuda" by the band Heart. So far I have roughly half of it down.

That and I'm trying to learn how to play "number of the beast" by Iron Maiden (due to a song request from a girl at my [CHRISTIAN] youth group. I just can't turn down a [metal] request from a little lady eh?)

I play blues, but enjoy challenging my speed with some metal runs and solos.

That's a good Idea. Play outside your comfort zone and your comfort zone gets bigger.

Going through "Surfing with the Alien" (Joe Satriani) and "Kill 'em All" (Metallica) at the moment.

Rocker_Gamma: Are you using the "Barracuda" tab from a recent Guitar World or another source?

Guitar Edge just had a really good Baracuda Tab. If I can find it, I'll let you know what issue it was.

I just browse other tablatures on the internet (like every other one is different), but I first started learning from what my dad taught me of it.

Hole in the Sky, Black Sabbath, from the current Guitar World mag.

They used a C# tuning, but you can play it in standard tuning in the F# position to be in tune with the record.

Working on an original right now. Last week I sort of faked it through a set with Allman Brothers and Steve Miller Tunes.
