Sounds like you're going to have a great time! And that is an awesome set too. Crossroads was on the setlist of my first "real" gig. It went.... Interestingly....

I agree with the have fun advice. Remember, there's a reason why it's called "playing music". The more you have a playful attitude, the more fun it is, and the crowd will have fun with you.

Have a good time!!

Cool song choices Kyle, rock the house and, like everyone says, have fun!

Don't let the "happy hour hecklers' get you down, just go with the flow and have a blast. Once you 'feel' the feeling of a real gig, you'll be hooked forever. Be inspired and definitely have fun.

Alright SKcoppertele! Good for you!

I'll echo what everyone else is saying......the days leading up to your gig is your work time. Get serious and iron out all the wrinkles you can.
Come friday night....It's Show Time!!! The work is done. Time to relax and have fun! When the crowd sees you are having fun, they'll follow.
Break a leg and let us know how things went.

This is exactly right. After all your hard work is done then the fun begins.

Though my first gig was about fifty years ago, I still remember it. When I first stepped out on that stage, my hands were shaking so bad I thought I'd never be able to play the guitar, but once the drummer counted in, all those hours and days of practice kicked in.

It was awesome!

Have fun and you'll carry the memory of your first real gig with you forever.

my first gig was back in '66 for a school dance. I was 12 at the time, and didn't know I was supposed to be nervous. after hundreds of gigs, I still get excited to play.

hope all goes wellfor you, and let us know the details.

The way I see it, non-malicious heckling is part of the ambience, just like the fat girl falling down on her $@! on the dance floor, and women asking for "Wonderful Tonight". Even the drunk guy asking questions about your gear in-between each song is part of the deal.
They're the patrons, you're the minstrel. Your job is to make them have fun, and fun is contagious - when they have fun, you will too, and vice versa.

Doing your first gig with your dad sounds like it will be a blast. Don't worry about getting nervous. It's going to happen so just accept it as natural. Focus on the music and you'll fall into a groove and stay there. Good luck!

Kyle, I've enjoyed your music and your progress in the studio since the first time I heard you play. You've got great taste in music and chops to match. I wish I could be there to cheer you on--if you have any way to film/record your gig, please do so--I, for one, can't wait to hear it!

Keep it up, SK...

Kyle, nothing to add beyond what has been said, but do enjoy your first gig. Nice set list.
