Hello all, its been ages but I am poking my feet back in for some assistance

a friend of mine acquired this guitar at a yard sale for $10 and we cannot find ANY information on the thing, we are completely stumped.... it looks like its a Sammick of some kind to me, so I am thinking its one of those Asian re-brand jobs built in the sammick factory, not not sure though. any of you fellas ever see this brand before? it looks like it says Maze to me. Its definitely from Asia but it does not have any origin markings no serial number or anything.

anyways I would appreciate the assist, its been quite the puzzle

Where ya been?

Yea, I'm gonna say that pulling the neck and looking for a model name/number there may work. I had a MIJ Fernandes that was like that.

From the look of it, it's probably made in the 90s. It just has that look, ya know?

Ahhh, I went back and time and got gear that was all older than me, so I guess I'm with you on the limited technology thing.

And yea, the pickups look the same, minus the Fernandes logo, maybe they're stamped Gotoh Japan if you're lucky. The HB would be the one that's stamped, btw.

come to think of it, the headstock is exactly the same shape as my Fernandes.

It's like a sub brand to Fernandes??

you know what model yours is? the ones i am finding are more rounded and dont have the carved top body.

the headstock looks like these old Samick superstrats to me, but its a rather generic shape. :?

I'll bet it's made in the same factory. Probably Brother Dave knows who, where, what, and what the crew had for lunch when they built it. :P He might show up and clue you in.

Well that is my hope, I have always found the fellas here very knowledgeable.
(at least they know great deal more than I do )
someone has to have at least laid eyes on one of these at some point or another.
My google-fu has failed me on this one, I was not strong....
