I'm a big fan of the early KISS records, but I've always thought that Paul Stanley's get-up was sorta lame.

I've never heard much Manowar, but they had Ross the Boss on guitar, so how awful could it be? Okay, so you gotta get past the album covers and the duff lyrics, but the guitar will ROCK!

Go Dictators! D.F.F.D. !!!

FWIW, the metal band Junkyard had founding Minor Threat member Brian Baker in the band, but it didn't make Junkyard that much cooler than LA Guns...

I've often wondered what Axl Rose was thinking when he decided that his "new image" should consist of wearing football jerseys with spandex shorts. I mean, c'mon Axl...did you look in a mirror before going out on stage?

I think Ian Anderson used to wear some pretty odd outfits back in the day. But then again so did everbody else. I remeber the first time I saw ZZ Top they were wearing jeans and tee shirts a year later they were wearing sequence (sp).

That is just deflecting attention from the music, indicating that it is perhaps inadequate

All I have to say is, maybe it makes sense to market yourself as a member of your audience...

but not if your target audience is 16 year old girls and rebellious pre-teen boys....and you happen to be well into your 30's.

case in point:

Could be true, but you could also say that it makes the performance a show, affects the sense of sight aswell as just your hearing.
