What do you guys think of this Ric? Someday I'm going to get a Ric for no other reason than I've always wanted one. I've managed to put it off successfully so far. This one might start the gas fires burning.
It's a walnut body, maple neck and fretboard, 24 frets. I like it.

Yeah, I thought so. I don't "NEED" it. But damn, it sure looks nice to me. I'm not sure how I'd sell the rationale for this to my wife, other than just admit there is none, but I want it anyway. :D

Different for them for sure. I'd prefer it in a 330 Capri body though.
That was my first intro to Rics, in the hands of James Burton, no less, on the Ozzie and Harriet show. I wish they'd reissue that model.

It's called the W series and they are doing 330/360 6 and 12 string versions. I've always been partial to the 360 myself.

Yah! 330 Capri's haven't been built for decades. There was a capable luthier in Germany who built a replica which he demo'ed on YouTube. Must be a reason why the company doesn't see a need for a RI Ric.

Where? The lowest I saw was $1,999, but I haven't gotten manic about it yet.

First place I found a price - Rickenbacker wants the street prices to not be published, so they can advertise with their high MSRPs and buyers think they get a special deal.

I know that I've been on a Cosmic Collision Course for a Ric 360/6 in FireGlo since before I even took up the guitar !!

They are absolutely Frank Sinatra COOL !! 8)

It may soon be time to plant that impression into Mrs. LMN's Consciousness... (Fully observing the D -1 principal that is...)

cheers!

For me it was seeing Paul Kantner play his FireGlo 12-string at the Monterey Pop Festival in '67.

There is no need or justification to buying a Ric than simply because it is one. If you got the scratch, I'd go for it. I wish I did, but it would be a Ric bass first, then a 12-string so I can be jangly.
