No doubt Tim McGraw has had his share of good songs. We all mellow out somewhat as we get older. A good woman will settle you down a bit, but it's also a natural process in life.

That last song I posted was a Joe Diffie song. He also has had some very good songs.
I always liked the songs that put a little smile on your face. This Joe Diffie song will do that; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HytwVrg-NPc

As I mentioned, these recordings were done 20+ years ago. So that you can have an idea of what we sound like today, here's one we recorded at practice a couple of years ago. There are only 4 of us playing now days, drums, 2 guitars and bass. It is a "live" recording and not a studio mix. Our drummer, Jim Haskett sings the lead.

P.S. Our front man Chester Pitman sang the Joe Diffie song.

Just showstagoya what's out there and never sees the light of fame.
But we've all known that to be true, haven't we.

Nice Roy Orbison vibe.

Whenever I think of Joe Diffie it reminds me of Sunday dinner with the family ("good brown gravy").

we is what we is......
The biggest reason I have enjoyed playing with these guys.

I won't lie. I think anyone that has ever picked up an instrutment had visions of making it big at some point in ther lives, but as a band we are pretty equal in our abilities and I think we have always had a realistic view of who we are. A hard working weekend club band. I say hard working not because of a multitude of gigs, but because even after all these years we still rehearse at least once a week and we all practice at home.

The closest we ever came to any "fame" is with our song writing. A couple of the guys have placed well in songwriting competitions and I once had a song under a 2 year contract with a publisher in Nashville. I was told it came close to being picked up by one of the top acts of the day, but.......

Anyway, I'm sure it's the same wherever you live, but there are some really great musicians and singers that I know here in Oklahoma. Some never play outside their living room. Out of everyone that I have played with I believe that Dayna had the best chance of making it. Not just because of her singing ability, but because of her looks, personality, attitude and so forth.

Hey arjay.....
Sunday dinner with Joe Diffie....now that's funny!
