On tonight's show taped this afternoon, David Letterman of the CBS "Late Show" announced his retirement sometime in 2015.

I don't watch Letterman.
A very long time ago ... when they pulled the carrot away ... his funniness just disappeared into the aether.

I like Craig Ferguson. Now there is a guy who can make me laugh.

I won't miss either one of them. I don't watch that show.

Neither. A 'comedian' who laughs at his own* jokes harder than the audience is a poor one.

* in so far as he tells them, he doesn't write them. Who'd own up?

Glad I'm not the only one that said neither.

Nothing against Letterman but I am just not a fan of the whole late night format, just doesn't do anything for me. And Paul Schaeffer (spelling)......that guy, while being a talented musician, is just obnoxious and annoying.

So in the scheme of things it is a non-factor to me.

My life without Letterman will be like a Stratocaster without a spit valve.

Is this one of those games like kids play where you get to choose between two awful things? ;) I've never been much of a fan of either. Not saying they aren't talented. Just not my bag.

Big fan of Will Lee and Sid McGinnis, but liked the band better when they were "The World's Most Dangerous Band" rather than with the additional players as the "CBS Orchestra" - but Tom "Bones" Malone is a huge talent and have liked his playing since he was in the Blues Brothers Band/Movies.

These are all session cats and will keep busy. Will also plays in the Fab Faux. Always liked Anton Fig's drumming since I heard him on Johnny Winter's album, "Still Alive & Well".

I agree, I can't say I understand exactly why things changed, but when Letterman first started doing Late Show, it was the 'wild and wacky' alternative to The Tonight Show. You know, stupid pet tricks, throwing ping-pong balls and fruit off the roof of the building. It's too bad he turned into basically what The Tonight Show was.

Neither. His ilk has been ruining civilization for about 50 years.
