Wow this has some amazing acoustics going up for sale
In the collection, there are about 50 Martin guitars, but one made in 1930 is considered the prize. "It's called the OM45 Deluxe," Ettinger says. "The best of the best." Martin only made 11 of them, and this one is going for a reserve of $800,000

Just to be clear I am not affiliated nor do any of the guitars up for auction belong to me, I wish they all did, thought it was interesting so I posted this

I notice that article and this one are dated April Fools Day:

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/vin ... -1.1741845

Hard to be sure, but the picture from the group halfway down that page showing the 1930 OM-45 Dlx looking from the tail to the nut makes it look like the bridge is lifting as the front has distorted under string tension over the decades. That's just what you'd expect with an old acoustic guitar: unlike old violins they don't improve with age. Sadly.

Never mind. I don't suppose the buyer will be planning to play it.

Cheers - C

I was hoping this would be a thread with pics about David Gilmour's number 1 Stratocaster, or maybe Stanley Clarke's Brown Bass. Never been much into acoustic guitars...
