Really appreciate all the comments, folks. Dad's obituary is posted online here if you're interested. He's always been a bit reserved about sharing his achievements and accomplishments with others but, the world can now know what a great man he was. Aviator, artist, sculptor, soldier, and family man. Half the time I called him he was either out at the airport or on his way to the airport so I have to keep catching myself and realizing that he's not simply out there tinkering with one of the planes ... absolutely loved it out there, and enjoyed an intensely active retirement right up to his final day!

Obviously, your father lived this. 8)

I didn't know your dad had done a tour in Vietnam as a crew chief and gunner with the Cav, Brad.

DOUBLE HAND SALUTE -- one for the DFC, one for the "victim of circumstance" award.

He was a "man's man" in every known sense of the word, sir!

*RESPECT* It seems he really lived life to its fullest. He must have been one heck of a dad.
