Ive just acquired a new old stock Fender catalogue from 1993. I used to have one of these posted on my wall when I was a kid and I'd spend hours looking at the guitars I would hope to one day own.

Here it is- pictures aren't that good but if anyone wants any close ups or more info- let me know :)

I have a P-Bass Lyte from '94 that I've used for 10 years, but it's currently retired. It needs some work done to it before it can be brought back into action.

They're Japanese, at least the one I have. I don't have any pics off hand, but it looks just like one in the catalog you have. Well, except for the fact that the majority of it's finish cracked and peeled off, starting nine years ago. It's the strangest thing, but I think because I live in an environment that goes from extreme dryness and cold in the winter and hot and humid in the summer. I live in an old house built in 1882 in Rhode Island, USA down the road from a beach that doesn't have air conditioning or climate controlled, so I imagine that probably contributed to it's condition. It's also developed a short in it's electronics and needs a decent setup, which is why I haven't been playing it recently.

Fender Talon? Fender Elan? I haven't even heard of those! The Elan looks very interesting, to be honest. Reminds me of PRS.

I have that poster version hanging over my guitar/amp workbench. Some great guitars on there!

Can't say Fender wasn't trying back then. Talon was a beautiful guitar. Too bad the 'big hair' guys didn't take to it.

The P-Lytes are Japanese. My Deluxe comes with a humbucker in the bridge, a 3-band EQ, gold hardware and a mahogany body. Very cool bass.

This incarnation of the Set Neck Strat was featured with a Lace Ultra pickup configuration.
Fender replaced the Lace Sensors with two Texas Special singles and a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck Trembucker pickup in 1994/95.

Discontinued in 1997.

The Floyded version was the precursor to the Showmaster, introduced in 1998.

Fujigen still make the Élan under their own brand 'FGN'.. They are fantastic guitars.

You can find out more of the Heartfield range here: http://www.heartfield-central.com

Here's my Talon V pictured on the catalogue. This particular model isn't that common as they are mostly branded 'Heartfield' where as mine is 'Fender' and also has a solid 'O' in 'Talon'. The pickups are a mystery as they were made by Dimarzio specifically for this guitar. Yet I have been told that the Evolution 2 humbuckers are the closest and probably were the product of these pickups after the Talon was laid to rest by FMIC
