Later in the 80s, I used a Sunn Stagemaster 2 x 12 for a few years (those Sunn Transducers were heavy!) when doing some gigs and through many rainy "booze cruises" and the like, it never died.

The Sunn Sceptre were very under rated amps also.

Used a Sunn 2000S for years. Heck of an amp head but heavy as a Buick. The Sunn cabs were awesome! This was an amazingly noise free and loud rig. Also used an early Ampeg SVT. Preferred the Sunn as it was more compact and due the cab design was louder. Never had any issues with the SUnn except the rectifier which I replaced.

Sunn amps cost a bloody fortune back in the day when they were all tube and all hand built all tube stuff. Of course all amps were more expensive back then, but Sunn amps cost more that about any other. Only real gigging pros could afford one.

Amps have gotten more powerful and less expensive since the late 60's and early 70's. The Sunn amps went downhill with the solid state stuff and it ruined the brand.

Funny trivia: The early Sunn stuff had the same Dynaco power amps in them that audiophiles were using to play records at home on their hi-fi. Yeah they used to be called hi-fi's.
