I even find playing keyboards difficult these days as I can't get my fingers to cooperate like they should, sometimes they feel like they are about to bind up and often do after I've been playing a few minutes.I have been using Rev.Willie's Mexican Lottery .007-.038 strings for the past year of so and used .008-.038 since the late 60s as my hands are a bit smallish anyway plus where I have been doing a lot of Hendrix covers ever since I needed a gauge of strings that would allow me to do extreme bending.Contrary to popular belief, thin strings don't mean this tone as Jimi,Tony Iommi,John Lennon,George Harrison and Billy Gibbons all used either extra light or super light strings and no one could accuse any of them of having thin tone. The .007-.038 Mexican Lottery strings were designed by Dunlop with considerable input from Billy Gibbons as he wanted the lightest gauge strings available but they had to have great tone and be able to hold it as well they would also have to hold their tuning after being subjected to his aggressive bending technique.

When I was in Florida and the Caribbean back in 2010 when my hands were just starting to get bad,I found that after just 3 or 4 days there despite being in a marine environment-which is where I live now but just 200 ft. from the cold North Atlantic-my hands started to become less painful and more supple. While on the cruise we befriended one of the solo performers on the ship and even though he had an Epi SJ-200 reissue with pretty substantial strings,I could play it for a few minutes-so that was a sure sign that my hands were reacting favourably to the warm weather. These days I have to wear heated gloves on cold days and massage them several times a day with a creamy mixture of Diclofenac and Ketamine just to keep them a bit flexible and a bit less painful, plus it also stimulates the circulation.By rights I need to be checked out by the Mayo Clinic or some other well respected medical research facility, because they have the ways and means to properly research one's maladies with more advanced diagnostic equipment and the very best of specialists in physical medicine. It's pretty ironic that I'd have to part with quite a few of my guitars and/or other gear in order to finance such a trip.

BTW with my past few blood tests my inflammation levels were either very low or nil.
