This was sparked by another thread, but does anyone know if the controversy between Ronnie Montrose and Gary Moore was ever resolved.. :?:

I'm referring to Montrose's Les Paul disappearing and then reappearing some time later in Gary Moore's hands.... Montrose was quoted as being certain that that sunburst Les Paul was his and that Moore had basically ripped it off.... :?:

Any verifiable input on this ...

Ronnie did file suit to try recover the guitar. I do not know if it had been resolved at the time of his death.

I'm sorry; remind me of why Ronnie drilled a pinhole in the back of his guitars. ???

If that is indeed the same guitar, it's like a senorita (signorina) getting the treatment from Don Juan AND Casanova.

I wonder if that's the same LP Ronnie played Town Without Pity on.
Somebody's not resting in peace.

I think considering that fact that neither Montrose or Moore are still with us means that this issue HAS been settled. You can't take it with you ...

Ummm...yes you can, my wife will probably bury me with one of them just to mess with me one last time. Of course I am not looking forward to eternity with a Strat shoved somewhere I don't want to discuss!

I wouldn't mind being buried with a guitar :P Actually, I would quite like it. And I think I've already made myself clear that I don't want any prayers be told on my funeral, I just want Shine On You Crazy Diamond being played one last time for me while the casket is being carried and then buried. Friends and family having one final drink "with" me and that'd be the perfect goodbye for me.
