Have a look at the Catalinbread Merkin Jim, fits your description I'd say, two knobs ( volume & texture) and umm Merkin, not even a hint of Brazilian wax.

ps Is this is a competition :?:

Thanks for further reinforcing my last post about slight thread hi-jackeage or just plumb misreading of OP and posting just to get a rise out of oneself.

:) still worth a look though eh? also, reading their blurb on the pedal, I've learned that using Carbon batteries gives a smoother sound as opposed to Alkaline which they say is harsher, wondering if this is true with all pedals.

It's amazing the responses I get that don't fit into my lil' parameters.

At this point, you might want to consider whether we're writing in this thread for the benefit of JimRussellMills30! or for the benefit of everyone.

I’m with art1

I’ve given up on Jim. For me its an entertaining thread with a lot of useful input from many various forum members.

Jim I hope you find what you’re looking for… I can’t wait to see what pedal actually fits your description. Please share once you find it. I’d certainly love to try that bad boy.

It's amazing to me that you are still getting responses.

Once again, I am looking for a fuzz pedal that doesn't sound like an amplifier's OD and has hair. :o

I am sure that I have exactly what you're looking for-it's called the Tim's Own Fuzzer Buzzer and was made in New England in the mid 60s.They were also made for several New England music stores to be sold as their store brands-they still show up from time to time on e-bay etc.

BTW: If you have ever heard the song called "You,I" by the Louisville,Kentucky group The Rugbys, you would know what the Fuzzer Buzzer sounds like. They were also made for New England music stores to be sold as their house brands and come up for sale on e-bay from time to time.

Once again, I encourage you to do your own search, whether on YouTube, Google or in a well-stocked boutique store...there are multiple pages of people making suggestions based on your poorly worded and inarticulate description, and your dismissive/arrogant/condescending replies.

Go find your own fuzz, Jim.

I've already done numerous online searches to no avail. A boutique store's fuzz pedals would probably be too expensive and I've already tried the big names, er the Fuzz Face, Fuzz Factory, etc. etc. I looking for something that sounds like vintage fuzz rather than overdrive. :?:

what you seek does not, nor ever has, existed on this planet or any other. It simply is not a thing, your only options are to give up and accept something that is "close" or start your own electronics corporation and sent all your employees out throughout the galaxies searching out undiscovered elements to create this cascade of "super-fuzz" of which you seek.

It exists. I just built one. This kit sold out in a week. It was a limited edition. They have build instructions and the parts can probably be sourced from Mouser Electronics. This is one of most off the hook fuzz pedals I've ever built. The kit was thirty nine bucks. Glad I ordered the kit when I did.

on a normal occasion i would agree, but i have a sneaking feeling that no... the pedal you just bought and built isn't quite right.
