Well, this thread has been mildly amusing and very informative. Thanks for all those great demos, people. You've turned me on to some great fuzz pedals. :D

James, just in case you really want a fuzz pedal, I suggest you take your guitar into the local music stores and try every fuzz pedal they have until you find one you like. Just make sure you play it through an amp like the one you own. Best of luck on your quest.

Hmm, I'm trying to read into the last part of your post? Do you question my interest in fuzz pedals? Exactly how many people bring both their guitar and amp to the music store solely to try out a pedal? Do you really wish me best of luck? Hey maybe we can get Butch A to chime in on his take of fuzz, eh.

And why call me by my perceived proper name? Hmm? :?

Actually that's very good advice. All the internet demos and forum suggestions in the world can't replace actually playing some pedals for yourself. And using gear like your own is the best way to do that. I brought my rig with me to demo the amp I ended up buying.

Also, "trying to read into" posts on the internet is generally not a good idea. It is a good way to stir up trouble. I just like to assume the best of everyone until proven wrong. Things work out better that way.

Would you have said the same, with a slightly different wording, if the person posting had been a guy? Think about it.

With slightly different wording? Remove the word "slightly", and my answer is "probably". I've encouraged younger guys on the forum (Kyle, CorpseKnot, Buxom, Steely Ray Vaughn), based on both their musical talent and my perceptions of their personalities.

Perhaps "little lady" was a poor choice of words, it was only meant to reflect the age difference, not to be diminutive...Rebecca, if you read this, please replace the poorly-considered words "little lady" in my previous post with "Rebecca". No offense was intended.

sounds like this is what you want, but hellish expensive for vintage or clone!

Personally after 40 years of sound I come to the conclusion that "fuzz" effects make a cheap guitar sound great , and a good guitar sound cheap. The Coloursound overdrive is an exception to this.

Colorsound with a Fuzz pedal... now yer talking :D

Actually the Skreddy Lunar Module is based on a fuzz face with an extra gain stage to give you the fuzz face followed by an OD characteristics. I love that pedal… need me one of those. Can possibly find one used for around OPs budget.

At this point, you might want to consider whether we're writing in this thread for the benefit of JimRussellMills30! or for the benefit of everyone.

Have a look at the Catalinbread Merkin Jim, fits your description I'd say, two knobs ( volume & texture) and umm Merkin, not even a hint of Brazilian wax.

ps Is this is a competition :?:
