Trade A crate V5 and A Dean Vx for this. I'm loving it so far its my 1st guitar with a floating tremolo. The neck is thin and flat (wizard II) really easy to shred on the pick ups are decent but nothing special though they are better then the ones that came in the dean i think i might put some GFS crunch rails or some black winters by duncan in it. A lot of people say the edge III is a really bad system for not being able to hold tune when you use the bar. But they must not of had it set up right cause i have absolutely no problem with it and well the guy i got it off said he had it set up only about a week too a week and a half ago

This scorching metal beast is capable to nail the signature tones of artists such as Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, Frank Gambale and Steve Vai.

Congrats on your new axe--it seems to be the right tool for your style...now, how about a sound sample?

Congrats corpseknot. That's a nice looking guitar, and probably sounds as good as it looks. :)

I like yours too strings10927. Satriani is one of my favorite guitar players. Ibanez makes some fine guitars.

A picture of mine (S770PB), with the ZR bridge, excellent tuning stability, even with hard whammy use, and great pups, especially the bridge pup.

Nice axe but it looks suspiciously like a Firestorm finish.

Nice find!

I have an RG3 as well. Mine's a hardtail, with the v7 and v8 pickups. Flame maple top with trans gray burst. Sharp looking, and an even better player! I don't play it as much as I used to- I have a lot more guitars now- but when I do, I fall in love all over again.

The stock pickups sound great as is. I esp like the #2 coil split position- which is both inside coils. Throw some nice crunch on it, and it sounds like a monster!

As you said, that Wizard 2 neck is comfortable and very easy to play. I'm not a shredder, but I definitely dig a nice Ibby!

I have an SRX bass as well, and like the guitar it's a really nice player with great pickups out of the box. I prefer it's sound to either of my Schecter basses, and I love those.

I have to admit I was thinking the exact same thing.
I had to look twice to see who the OP was and check the post count.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Lol

You're right it does look like firestorm

Nice Ibanez corpseknot, I have a fender Talon and the differences between an RG and a Talon are very few :) I'm sure they have the same neck profile

I'll have to post a video of it in a couple of day's I left my camera at a buddies house.
I find the neck profile to be a bit odd the back feels so flat not rounded like my tele and warlock it's really easy to play and thin but it just feels a bit odd to me I'll get used to it though.
This guitar is certainly a shredder it will be staying in the collection.
On the tremolo side of things like I said this is the 1st guitar I own with one on it. I played them in store and they never appealed so I guess I never bothered to try to get one but this came with one lol. But id say I'm going to block it after a bit more time with it. I still don't see the big deal about them but I'll give it a bit more of a chance.
Do blocking the tremolo give any benefits like would it add more sustain or anything do the material of the block matter or do it just lock up the tremolo.

PS:Nice guitars shimmilou and strings i really like the top of that S
