Hello, I am possibly in the market for a new guitar amp, I'm looking for an all tube combo amp, for $1299(+ or - $200), i'm looking for something brand new not used. I mainly play an AM. Deluxe Tele, and am looking for something which can deliver beautiful clean tones with maybe some mild to slight distortion. This amp will mainly be for studio use but I would like to ensure it has enough volume for live performance. If anyone has any opinions or preferences/ recommendations. thank You

Go to a couple of different Guitar Stores and try some out. Look for the tone you like. You can always mic up for gigs.

The Deluxe Reverb Reissue would be a good clean amp for studio and hold it's own in jam situations. Have you thought about the Princeton Reverb recording amp that has the built in attenuation and compression? Great for studio work and enough power for jamming. Also coming out this month is the Princeton Reverb Reissue...another good studio amp and should hold up to low- moderate volume jams. These black face amps are the hallmark of Fender clean.

You can get into higher wattage, but that would be a different animal to tame in the studio.

Try the mesa express 5:25, or a dr.Z or a fender deluxe or twin

With the amount of money you have.....I'd go out and try all the Fender tube amps.....you pretty much can have your pick. And the Fender tube amps go well with a tele.

Make sure to check out a Cyber Twin. There's a lot to love in there.

Check out a Blues Junior for a lot less money on sale at Guitar Center. It gets loud, can go loud clean with a tube switch, or you can stay with the Groovetubes it ships with, which I love, and it's good for recording. Trower used one on his last album, together with another amp. Mainly, the tone is killer. All tube signal path with a solid state rectifier - all I know is it sound great. I've gone into GC and plugged into this one or that one, and go home and turn on the Blues Junior and it's just so good it's astonishing. Mine's stock but the web is full of Blues Junior enthusiasts with many ideas for changes or upgrades. Chet built a solid wood cabinet for his. Of course, the pricier ones may get a little better I don't know because I stayed with what I liked. That Princeton Reissue looks good, but doesn't have a fat switch, may not have as much gain . . . worth trying though.

I've had tons of amps, and the only two guitar amps I have now are an old Fender Super and a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb. Both outstanding amps.

A cheaper amp that I've always liked for what it is, is the Peavey Classic series. I like the tone, and they're built better than most people give them credit for.

Try a Fender Vibrolux! One of the nicest sounding tube amps ever! Oh and don't forget the Vox AC30. A true classic! Mesa/Boogie also makes nice amps for the money.

I've got the lil Classic 20, which is 15W for some reason. Either way, it's a great little tweed amp. I love it. Loud as hell for it's size.
