Happy B-Day! Very cool! You'll really enjoy it. I have a Fulltone Deja Vibe 3 and I really love the whole rotating speaker effect. I'm going to build a Fuzz Face clone and see how it goes.

How do you like the Pedal Train? Been thinking of picking one up.

Love the pedaltrain, simple no nonsense board. Case fits my pedals and other assorted stuff easily.

Rotovibe gonna need to spend a bit more time to really assess and learn to use it. it would also help if I had s better amp

Jim, thanks for the update. The Pedaltrain is on my list. I might go with the hard case, I built a distortion box that's driven with a preamp tube and it stands up on the enclosure.

Looks like you have a GDec 30 on your gear list. I have the older version not the III. The only way I can use my GDec is if I turn the effects off and play around with the amp models. It sounds better through an extension cab. Mine really doesn't respond to pedals well at all. I have a few other amps. I have an Egnater Rebel 20 with two 112 cabs loaded with Celestion Elite 80's, a 5e3 Tweed Deluxe clone that I built, a 74 Fender Champ and a five watt amp from Mod Kits DIY that I built and use it with a 112 cab with a Jenson MOD speaker. I have a few solid state amps that I built too and a slew of pedals that I built. I like building stuff. My Fulltone Deja Vibe sounds great with all but the GDec. If I figure it out, I'll be sure to let you know. All I can think of is all that digital processing in the GDec doesn't really like outboard effects. The Gdec is a handy practice tool. I've used it on rehearsals, but I just can't get a tone I really like.

I've been connsidering these amps:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Renegade212/

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Vint ... 1145362.gc

But the only one I've been able to take for a test drive is the 65 Twin, but man o man the clean tones out of that amp are the gold standard to my ears.

I have the Renegade head. The 212 combo would be nice if you aren't going to take it anywhere. I think it weighs like 93#. It's interesting that it comes with two different speakers IIRC, a Vintage 30 and an Elite 80. I like the tube blending. It's subtle, but I can hear it.

Pretty hefty amps. I carried a 76 Twin for over thirty years. It was overkill for most gigs. Great sounding and reliable and regret selling it. But man it was heavy. The Renegade is sweet too. I like Egnater's stuff. I've had my Rebel 20 for over three years with no problems at all. I've been reading about some reliability issues, mostly power trannies and with the Tweakers. The Rebel 30's seem to have their share of issues too. Now I build my own stuff.

Happy B'day and congrats on your new toys. The Rotovibe is one of the most versatile pedals that you can have in your effects chain.I have several Uni-Vibe/Leslie type emulators and they are practically indispensable once you get used to them. The Roto-Vibe is one of the better vibe/chorus pedals for tone, ease of use and versatility. If you have a flanger or phaser you can get an incredible effect by setting the flanger/phaser on a long and slow modulation sweep and setting the Roto-Vibe on fast or medium modulation sweep then put that signal through a delay/echo set on a slow delay you'll have an effect much like Jimi's "House Burning Down" from Electric Ladyland.Enjoy your new toys and have fun experimenting with the cool sounds that are in that pedal just waiting to come out.

Just looked and the Renegade 212 combo is a svelt 75 lbs. But it has side handles so that makes it portable right 8)
