That video is brutal Bros, I saw that band warm-up for AC/DC in 88 and that was brutal, we were center stage 3 rows back everyone up front is barking "posers, get off the stage, f f f-ff-fff-f!" They are great live the set killed they didn't stop smiling, must be the east coast, tough as nails. Here is my fav WL vid

wow, I forgot all about Aldo Nova - good one. Here's another MTV gem, the acoustic version of 'I Saw Red' by Warrant. Jani Lane passed away in 2011 - I can't say I remember seeing that on the news. I guess they officially slipped into obscurity.

I miss the old MTV and I can't get Palladia. I guess MTV's or VH1's website still has vids you can watch.

Music on TV alert :

Tonight at 9:30 EST - Tribute to George Harrison - on MTVlive (formerly Palladia). Many guests.

Currently - ELO 'live' - same channel - it rocks!

The 80s holdover Valley Girl and questionable cool plastic fantastic veejays trying to set a trend (rather than follow it) made me vacate the MTV/Much Music scene.

I think these type of pseudo culture presentations work for the time; but, they get old quickly as if old dudes without a connection to the youth of today may cause otherwise appreciable music videos to be less likely included in a steady diet.

Not much loss for me as the LA Glam bands rolled out of the revolving back door of a factory where the most heard shout was "Next!". Unfortunately, the good stuff got lost like packaged comic books of interest bundled with the crap. The Unplugged segments did, however, grab my attention. Just my two cents.

And I wasn't an old fart back then.

I remember being a big fan of early MTV for no other reason than the variety and it just being new. Videos were an interesting new way to experience music that I otherwise probably wouldn't have heard.

But I honestly can't tell you the last time I clicked to it because of the garbage on there now.

VH1 was a favorite of mine for the "behind the music" series, but these days Palladia is about the only music channel I watch.

I can't get MTV Live (formerly Palladia) because I don't have the HD pkg from my cable company. I used to go to an English pub on my way home from work (which has since closed). They had this channel on all of the time. I loved the concerts and the shows like Jools Holland. I wonder how much more it would cost me.

Confession: In the old days of MTV, I had a crush on Martha Quinn.

Call them and find out - I heard Charter was buying Bright House.

The Doors are rocking out right now:

I agree MTV became unwatchable after The Real World. Used to get Palladia before I ditched cable and thought it was great.

It amazes me that with like a bajillion channels on standard cable, programmers can't make an all-music channel work.

Because music is to be listened to - not watched.

:-)

It's still cool to see what gear they use and the performances, IMHO.
