I don't because I like to be able to move my hand if I need to and it makes it easier for me to palm mute.

It's really best not to technique wise. I still do sometimes, but I'm trying to break the habit completely. That's just one of the reason's I believe lesson's are important for the first couple of years of playing. Good habits are easy to learn and bad habits are hard to break.

It depends what I am playing and what guitar I am using, but it happens from time to time. It's not the best form or technique, but I play guitar to please myself and not other guitar players, so I don't worry or think about it too much.

A bad habit I'm trying to break, as well.

I sometimes do......other times I don't. Depends on what type of thing I'm playing.

Sometimes I do, but I do some palm muting at times and even the 'pinky around the volume control' trick every once in a great while. Hmm, I guess I never gave it much thought.

Depents on the style I play. If I play open lead lines I have the little finger on the pickguard. If I play palm muting then not.
I haven't been thougth about it...so I sit here with my Strat and analysing...hahaha

Cheers :D
