As I only received one response to this question I decided to make my own decision and went with option 1, it came with a white tip on the toggle, no big deal I will get a black and amber tip and can always change the look I have posted pictures further down the thread ( not much further as there wasn't many replies

I have a non fender guitar I want to make better it is a Epi g 310 ( I also have an Am St. Strat) this is the only forum I am a member of, and I know that some of the members have non fender guitars so I am looking for advice, here goes. I have already put Gibson Classic 57 neck and Classic 57 plus Bridge, Goth Tuners now it stay in tune
I am going to change out the wiring.and I am looking at some pre-wired harnesses and after pricing out all the components, I might be spending an extra $10 on the pre-wiring I am going to use either the 50's style or the Independent I am leaning towards the 50's any suggestions on that will be helpful
My choices are:

1) One New Switchcraft 3-way right angle toggle switch with a black switch tip and recessed knurled nut and flat nut
Four New Bourns Matched 500k audio taper potentiometers with two nuts and washer for height adjustment
Bourns stock number - PDA241-SRT00-504A2
The volume pots are matched and the tone pots are matched to within 1%

One New Switchcraft 1/4” jack with two nuts and washer for height adjustment

Two new Genuine 715P Orange Drop polypropylene and foil tone capacitors
.022uf 600V +/-5%

New 20ga solid core wire for the ground bus

New vintage style cloth covered push back 22ga wire

I do not know the Bourns brand of potentiometers, are they quality, these do fit the knobs that are on my guitar presently

Choice 2;
One New Switchcraft 3-way right angle toggle switch with a black switch tip and recessed knurled nut and flat nut

Two New CTS 450GT 500k Linear taper potentiometers with two nuts and washer for height adjustment
Used for Volume

Two New CTS 450GT 500k Audio taper potentiometers with two nuts and washer for height adjustment
Used for Tone

One New Switchcraft 1/4” jack with two nuts and washer for height adjustment

Two new old stock Genuine Sprague 225 Orange Drop mylar and foil tone capacitors
.022uf 100V +/-10%

New 20ga solid core wire for the ground bus

New vintage style cloth covered push back 22ga wire

So the CTS do not fit my knobs. Question; are they that much better, if so I could buy new knobs if it will make a big difference in the long run
Cap Question; The 1st choice has Two new Genuine 715P Orange Drop polypropylene and foil tone capacitors .022uf 600V +/-5%
2nd Choice has Two new old stock Genuine Sprague 225 Orange Drop mylar and foil tone capacitors .022uf 100V +/-10%
I know that the Cap question can open a very ugly can of worms, but for those who think, feel, or can hear the different in Caps, I for one feel it does make a different or I would most likely not be doing this change, let me know your thoughts

And then Option 3, not likely, but I am thinking about it, Independent Wiring, anybody tried this, here is what this kit has in it;
One New Switchcraft 3-way right angle toggle switch with a black switch tip and recessed knurled nut and flat nut
Two new old stock Genuine Sprague 225 Orange Drop mylar and foil tone capacitors
.022uf 100V +/-10% for the bridge
.018uf 200V +/-10% for the neck
New 20ga solid core wire for the ground bus
New vintage style cloth covered push back 22ga wire

There is one more Option 4 it is modern, but I could just change the Cap position to make it 50's wiring, and my knobs fit. The big question here is What do you know about New Old Stock Paktron polypropylene film tone capacitors
.022uf 50V +/-2% how do they compare to the Orange Drops

One New Switchcraft 3-way right angle toggle switch with a black switch tip and recessed knurled nut and flat nut
Four New Bourns 500k Audio taper potentiometers with two nuts and washer for height adjustment 18 spline coarse knurled split shaft PDA241-HRT00-504A2
One New Switchcraft 1/4” jack with two nuts and washer for height adjustment

Two New Old Stock Paktron polypropylene film tone capacitors
.022uf 50V +/-2%
These are my favorite capacitors and I put them in my own personal guitars
New 20ga solid core copper wire for the ground bus
New cloth covered push back 22ga vintage style wire

Sorry for the long post any advice will be much appreciated

Bourns are very good pots , better than some CTS with plastic shaft wich are not reliable . CTS with steel shaft are very good too.

About your knobs; your guitar are not american made so parts size like knob don't fit on American size pot .

You won't hear any difference between your original electronic and the upgrade you want to do .
It is a good and not expensive hobby .

Just more reliable with the new american made pickups switch and output jack .

Be sure to know how to solder properly with good soldering tool. Unless lots of trouble .

Thanks, the seller tell me that the Bourns will fit the knobs that came with this guitar as the pots on there now are Alpha and he said they were 18 spline coarse Knurled Shafts
Yes I can solder properly
So you say there will be no difference in sound no mater which option I go with
I think I will go with option 1: as it will be a lot quieter when I switch between pick ups as the switch in there now is noisy at times and sometime it just does not work until I move it back and forth a couple of times, and on top of it all the workmanship of the old solder joint are really bad like an amateur had worked on it

So I replace the junk that came with this China made epi and what a difference it made not sure if it was just the 50's wiring or just everything

I did not take before pics these are after the fact

This was my first guitar then I picked up a 2012 Am Std Strat and I at first wondered if I made a mistake. At first I could not get accustomed to the bright bell like ring tone and the Bridge pick Up, I at first hated. As I played it more, the more I grew accustomed to the sound and the feel of the guitar, I also figured out the Bridge pick up. The Strat is my main guitar now. So the Epi now sounded so muddy and dark even after I changed out the buckers for real 57's. Now that I have changed out the guts it sounds so much better and the Tone pots actually rolls the tone rather than a fluctuation of tone from 0 to 2 no other change till it gets to 8,9 when it got a little treble added
