This past Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending a performance of the Shreveport Symphony. In addition to Mozart's Requiem, they preformed a Jon Lord (of Deep Purple) composition “To Notice Such Things” a dedication to his long time friend Sir John Mortimer.

It was a wonderful presentation and was quite proud that they chose one of Jon’s pieces, although given the general age of the crowd, I doubt may persons there knew anything about Lords career.

Of all the musicians who have inspired me over the years, Jon Lord is right up there at the very top of a long list.
