Thanks to those who responded to my previous post on this subject. I now know that what is commonly called tweed tolex is not tolex and tweed is not tweed but rather twill. All good info.

At any rate I am still pursuing some safe made in USA vintage-style tweed/twill to make a tie and other joke gifts for my guitar loving family and friends.

I have seen a whole range of suppliers and prices. If anyone recommend a supplier or better yet a manufacturer that can ship tweed-style covering at competitive prices. I doubt that Fender sells this "raw material" otherwise I would gladly source it through them.

Something close to the Pac Northwest or West coat would be great but I did hear about a place in New Jersey that is supposed to be a good source. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the one that was described to me.

Any suggestions Fender gurus?

What an awesome idea. I will be watching this one.
A tweed tie with a 50's Fender Deluxe logo would be so cool.

Sorry that's not it. My friend who told me about the manufacturer's page but didn't bother to book mark it. He and I have tried to find it together without luck. Kayline is one of the ones we found in our search but he swears that it's some other company. Thanks for the response though.

There is neither indication nor expectation that this material is made in the USA. Frankly, I'd be amazed if it was.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check it out.
