After years of "getting around to it" the music room/rec room (or more suitably wreck room) swap is well under way.Since I have been pretty well incapacitated since the truck accident I had back in early December, which was compounded by my pre-existing physical injuries and limitations plus other medical issues,my wife, bless her heart, has done incredible work with it all.She single handed hauled up the carpet and underlay in the old 9 X 9 music room and even removed all the ceiling tile and put up the insulation for the dual purpose of keeping in the heat plus sound absorption.

Our niece's husband has his own flooring business and we enlisted him to put down the new flooring,we went with a high quality vinyl flooring that looks just like actual hardwood flooring unless you look really closely. The next step will be to take all the instruments from where we had them put in the old rec room and put them in the newly finished old music room. Then we will be removing that carpet etc. and getting the flooring put in there.

That is going to be an incredibly labour intensive job because we have to pack up my thousands of books and magazines that occupy the 8 or 9 overflowing bookcases I have and then tackle the large number of vintage vinyl and tapes I have-both cassette and reel to reel. Then all the stereo gear has to be stored and the speaker wiring that I had routed under the carpet and then eventually running up to satellite speakers in the living room, has to be rerouted.Of course the ceiling tile there has to be removed and insulation installed before the pine ceiling is put up.

Lucky for us,Blinkers has generously offered to pitch in and give us a hand with getting all the stuff packed up and moved etc.,to compensate him for this,I'll have to at the very least let him play my Guild S-100-NB every time he drops by,lol-he loves that guitar,it's a Les Paul/S.G. slayer.Hopefully by the time summer comes we'll have it all finished and I'll be able to celebrate by having a monster jam.I have all the gear necessary except for drums and a P.A. system,I guess that out of all my musician friends someone will probably be able to supply at least one of each. I will try to get up progress pix.I posted before pix in this forum a long while ago,but I'll take some more before we get into the work on the big rec room,it's 14 X 19 so there will be almost enough room for all my gear to be set up.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
