How do I move it? Lower it?
I don't want to remove it. I like the sound of it with the neck pup and it will look funny with a hole in the middle.

Yeah, lower it a bit - with good hardware as mentioned.

Over the years of remedying the "repairs" and modifications of others I have seen countless numbers of stripped screw heads done by owners and even an occasional tech either too lazy to look for the right size or type screwdriver or by using substandard tools.Using a blunt Phillips screwdriver can strip out a screw head in no time flat.Years ago I made the mistake of using low budget screwdrivers etc. but found out pretty quick that cheap tools can cause extensive, expensive damage.Since my day job involved very exacting medical technical work requiring meticulous attention to detail and measurements etc. and along with the minute adjustments required in guitar maintenance, I have learned that using the absolute best tools available is a necessity if you value your gear to any degree at all.

Absolutely, a high quality, correct tool is essential. I didn't know until resent that there is metric and SAE phillips screwdrivers. I've bummed many phillip heads on various items in my time.

I am a little reluctant to do anything like that seeing as it is still under warranty, but I don't want to have issues for the next 9 months either!

You say it's still under warranty, so it seems reasonable you should consult with the dealer or manufacturer for remedy... :x

Yeah, I've been tossing the idea to head back to the shop for the screw issue, but I don't think they can help me with the pickup being in the way.

I seem to have that problem with pretty much any guitar with a middle pickup. Strat, Ibanez, even my new Domino.

The domino, I can't do much about as far as repositioning or replacing the pickup. But I've found a spot where I can rest my pinky and it keeps me away from it.

For my Ibanez, I put a Duncan Cool Rail in the middle. The dual blade design doesn't really hinder the pick, so I'm good with that remedy.

For Strats, I generally like Lace Silver middles. It's a good choice for having a flat topped cover. No poles protruding, and I love the sound of them. If I really like a middle pickup with exposed poles, I just ignore the fact that I inadvertently hit it. The real trick is to just forget it happens and don't focus on it. If it REALLY hinders my picking (like vintage staggered poles), I'll find a happy medium between either lowering it a little or just moving where I pick. Not much else to do about it.
