I prefer modern I guess. It's probably about a 65/35 ratio of new to old stuff that I listen to. More of the modern stuff includes things like Muse, Radiohead, Incubus, Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. I'll also listen to a lot of Zeppelin, Sabbath, Hendrix, Cream, and more.

IMHO I find classic rock to be the best of the two. There certainly are some good acts out there now, but there were so many great musicians and bands then.

I have to say Classic Rock-only because there is (in my opinion) very few songs that are classified as 'New Rock' now that would be considered as 'Classic Rock' 20 years from now. It's all relative, but the latest batch of music ain't stepping up to the plate, to me.

I prefer classic rock because everything was authentic back then. There was no synthesizers or anything like that.

No synths? I don't recommend that you listen to The Cars, or The Police, or Edgar Winter's 'Frankenstein', or Rush's 'Tom Sawyer', or....

Synths aren't ALL bad when done to compliment a song. I still prefer guitar as the primary voice.

What about Yes, Genesis, ELP, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, etc....The 70's was all about synth's. They were new and fun. Dream Weaver anyone?

Classic, and usually the 'more classic,' the better.

'Am personally so weary of never-ending, constant, wailing, screeching, teeth-grinding, tedious, painful heavy distortion being used as a substitute for articulate musicianship, 'want to explosively projectile vomit on the device generating the cacophony.

But in favour of modern rock...at least it is much superior in these ears to rap.

I was talking about new stuff with synths like Nine inch Nails etc. The classics like frankenstein and All of My Love are my favorites.
