Hi everybody,

I'd like to have an idea of the JM set up for this TV show.
Fender is saying on Facebook that he's playing a '68 custom deluxe reverb.
It looks like he's playing a stereo set up with a '65 and '68 custom DR (both on the normal channel).
What do you think guys?

Thanks in advance.
Greg

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps his next change is a return to the blues thing, with some cool jazz mixed in. I saw him twice live last year. Although it was the year of the Weird Cowboy Scarf, he still played his electric solos live.

Guild Aristocrat (M-75) and sounds great!

Hard to tell on the amps from this clip and who
knows how they mic'd him up...

Palladino and Steve Jordan - tight!

Chick Corea not too shabby either.

Thank you very much for your replies!
It's very cool to share with you here! :)

I agree it's not so easy to know the details of JM's set up from this vid.
And you're right, the sound engineer is probably doing a big part of the sound here...

Anyway, I was wondering which piece of Fender gear I'm gonna buy next but now, I'm gonna go for this '68 custom DR! If it's good enough for JM, Amen! :D

Can't wait to listen to this new album of the JM Trio! With Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan, its' gonna be awesome again! :D

Have a good day guys!

Bonamassa's shooting star must have kick started Mayer into a new groove. Changed the look, the guitar[ Guild being an FMIC owned company] etc. I guess the Two Rock amp has its place, but not for the TV studio venue. There are several Fender tube amps which would meet the OP's criteria for that kind of use.
