OP:

Come to the Electric Pickle in the Wynwood Arts District at 10 PM tonight. Open mic jam session.

http://www.electricpicklemiami.com/empo ... age_id=892

On Monday nights, go to Churchill's near Little Haiti. Jazz on the main stage and open mic jam session (i.e., new band/musician networking) on the back stage.

http://www.churchillspub.com/

(Get it while it lasts. Sadly, after nearly 40 years the owner has announced he's selling. No telling what the space will be used for next. Right now it has guitar-based music, local bands, 365 days a year.)

I tried bandmix and bandfriend and had no success. It seems the thing to do is to get out there in the real world and meet people at open mics.

You can't just "ambush" people into starting a band or "walk-in" to a perfect situation. You have to figure out if this is just a fantasy that you have because if you're not in one already, wanting to start a band is totally different than being in a band.

I checked out your youtube page. Sweet tone, dude.

Last night was cool. Good mix. You should come next week. Everyone there was cool. I'm going to PM you.

We should jam. You're not far away. I also know at least 2 drummers who are real drummers in gigging bands. I pointed out Dave Grohl is in 17 bands so it's all good.

I will give it a go but at the moment I am dealing with some heavy stuff. My mother committed suicide on March3rd/4th and I am dealing with that and the two memorials that will be taking place this Saturday and next month. So my guitar will be my best friend all the time and I have some reasons now to say what the hell just do it.....I will....I will...I will....I will let you know when I will be going.
