I've heard it is really hard to get a band going in S. Fla. from more than one person. Maybe a crappy Country band like the one in "Slingblade" but that's all I know. When I lived down there -- there weren't many places that had bands where I was. GOOD LUCK !! :D

If I was able to swing moving to Florida,I'd be there in a heartbeat, that's if you wouldn't mind having a Hendrix/Beatles/British Invasion/Blues freak in your band.I just love the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area there is such a rich mix of different cultures there and so much great music of different cultures,it's a virtual musician's Paradise.Good luck in finding bandmates,I'm sure that eventually some musicians will surface.

Maybe you could post an audio clip of what you
sound like and your vocal range.

Start a band in Florida, south or not? Yeah sure, just move out of there like I did. :P Then again, it all depends on what kind of music you want to play. To be honest, I could put a band together in the UK pretty easily, because of my influences are still popular there, since that's where this music really came from. It's all about location, I guess.

.......and audience. The Doowoppers and 50's tribute bands are popular in the retirement communities here. 60's and 70's band are in demand as well. We're going to have 'The Mystics' doing a show at my club on April 1. No fooling :!:  You'll need to 'Google' them if you're not over 60.

Very true. The only band I know is Fourth Dimension. We have gotten close the last few years with our kids going to the me schools, etc. They are a reggae band down here and a really popular one. Doc have you heard of them before? Here is their website. http://4thdimension.org/

Go to http://www.whitestoneband.com. Go to the bios. Frank LoVerso is a close friend of my dear old friend and bandmate Gary. Gary and I go back to high school. He will be relocating here for good end of month. You'll see that Frank is holding a Strat. It's a '54. Belonged to his father. It's still in regular use. Talk about relics. There's hardly a finish on that guitar. You would have seen it close up at our lunch three years ago. I invited those two along to meet you, Serge, and Steve. He had it in the trunk of his car. Sorry you missed it.

Also see www.egobandmiami.com. I've heard them play. Good job!!
