I recall Guitar Player Magazine reviewing a Fernandez guitar many years ago and the big thing was the built in Sustainer system. That may explain why yours has a battery in it.
Are any of the pots push pull type which would likely turn it off and on. I ask because I don't see any switches besides the 5-way in your picture.

It doesn't have a battery, I said I went looking for one and there wasn't. Pickups are passive, which is a victory!

I haven't read up on the sustainer system, what is it?

Think Ebow x 6...

It makes a magnetic field that vibrates all the strings, so you can make killer ambient textures and rhythms with a guitar.

I'm thinking of gutting it, these pickups are weak and muddy, which is a disappointment.

I'm actually thinking of trying a Paul Gilbert Injector (bridge) in the neck and a Super Distortion (bridge) in the bridge. Why? Because I love bridge pickups and I don't give a $@!&.

I don't know why, but this guitar sounds so much better standing up.

Is there any logical explanation? It just sounds clearer to me. I really like the bridge pickup now that I stood up with it.

Guitars are strange.

Perhaps it's just your perception of it from one time to another. That can happen all of the time. Either that, or it's those damned evil guitar gremlins that sneak in the middle of the night and mess with things. :P

I don't understand. It doesn't happen with my Guild.

This guitar is confusing, but the good ones usually are. I'll try to get a vid up in the next couple days.
