You know, living on Route 441 makes it almost obligatory to own one.

This guitar is plenty of Byrds chime and jangle, except Roger uses the 3-pickup 370/12.

The poor guys in the shop had about an hour to restring it as he knew I was coming. He looked exhausted when I arrived. He said putting new strings on them was hard, doing it in a hurry was even harder. :)

I've already been learning Turn! Turn! Turn! and Mr Tambourine Man today. :)

I've got a Janglebox JB1 in the mail at the moment which is supposed to be the closest pedal to Roger's tone.

You have me red-lining on the envy meter for sure.I have always wanted a 360/12 and a 325V63,they are my dream guitars since I am a card carrying Beatle Fanatic of the highest order. How do you like the high-gain pickups? A lot of people who buy 360/12s or 370/12s replace the high gainers with toaster top reissues,is that in your plans? Either way you have the guitar that started the whole jangle revolution that made such a huge impact on rock and folk rock music-congrats.

I won't be planning to change anything on it as I want to keep everything stock on it as it is 34 years old. It totally nails that 12 string jangle I was looking for with the Hi Gains so I'm pretty happy with them. I have a Janglebox JB1 pedal in the mail at the moment which is supposed to totally nail the tone of Roger McGuinn.

I believe that Roger used to actually endorse the Jangle Box,I know that he has used one for several years now.

McGuinn often played the triple-pickup Ric just as I witnessed at the Monterey Pop Festival in '67 but he did not use them exclusively as this early photo of him wielding a two-pickup model in Mapleglo with the Byrds clearly shows......

Very nice find. Enjoy!!

I too would love a 360/12 in Fireglo. Now that I picked up the 6-string bass, the only guitar left on my GAS list is the 12-string. And maybe an Ovation roundback. Maybe.

What a beautiful guitar! Could the finish be called "Amber Glo" (more rare)? The coloring seems to bleed into the center of the guitar more so than on Fireglos, seems it would be lighter in the middle if Fireglo. I really don't know.
But be very careful now, Rics tend to come in threes. I bough a Jetglo for a good price when I really wanted a Fireglo for a couple of years. Then a month later I came across my Fireglo for a price I couldn't pass up. It wasn't weeks later that someone had a Mapleglo 360V63 at a give away price. He really, really wanted a wedding and new wife, so how could I not help him out? I couldn't resist. As you can tell, I collect more than I play with my 68yr old hands plus lack of talent, either way it's a lot of fun, isn't it?

I must admit that I've been looking at the colour and wondering if it is Amber Fireglo or if there is an Amberglo colour. Looking at the two Guitars together, there's a huge difference between them.

I found this on YouTube where the owner refers to his as being "Amber Fireglo" so I'm not sure.

I also forgot to mention that the Guitar has got a bit of history to it as it was previously owned by a well known property developer here in Ireland that was friends with the rich and famous. Here is the man himself at an event with Bono and the Edge from U2.

http://entertainment.ie/photos/U2-band- ... htm#!img=4

Unfortunately for him, he lost his fortune as many other property developers did when it all went bust in 2008. Maybe this is why the guitar ended up in my possession.

Somebody wins, somebody loses.

Such are the dynamics of life.

I've played a Rickenbacker 360/6 at a music store. Um, I wasn't blown away in any way by it and it was too pricey anyway.
