We've lost a real Hollywood luminary......

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/20 ... port-says/

As contributors to popular contemporary culture go, Harold had few peers and it's doubtful that many here on this forum didn't appreciate his cinematic send-offs, from "Caddyshack" and "Animal House" to "Ghostbusters" and "Stripes".

"THERE SHE WAS, JUST A-WALKIN' DOWN THE STREET......"

Rest in peace Harold, you'll be missed by many.

Arjay

He has crossed his last stream now.
Rest in peace, Harold. Thank you for all the good moments.

Last week, guitarist Gert "Kralle" Krawinkel died, way too young. Maybe not a huge name here in the US, but at least many of us will remember "Da Da Da I Don't Love You You Don't Love Me Aha Aha Aha".

Ride on, Kralle.

It is sad, seeing so many of my heroes gone. And more playing their last verse, too. Can't they at least wait until I'm gone?

So...how many of you would say you speak English fairly well but with some difficulty?
A little English?
Yes, you speak some English?
Son-of-bit@#...Sh!*

Brilliant...keep em laughing in heaven Harold.

Sad news... and I was really hoping the boys would be back for Ghostbusters III! Rick Moranis has frequently said it is the only project he would come out of retirement for. But with Egon gone it probably won't and really shouldn't happen!

I mostly remember him as Moe Green on early SCTV episodes.
But he'll be missed.
He was a funny guy.

My condolences to his family & friends.

I wasn't aware that he was responsible for producing such iconic comedies.Stripes and Caddyshack especially were among my absolute favourite movies and of course Ghostbusters was absolutely brilliant. It's sad that so many of our most brilliant artists die well before their time, yet the untalented and mediocre appear to be immortal.

And Harold was a very humble man, another thing you don't find in the untalented and mediocre. I am going to miss him very much. :(

A great Writer/Director, I'll miss him most for his National Lampoon Radio Hour...

Among the greatest bits were:

'Land a Million' Where contestants answered questions for clues to land a 747 filled w/ $1,000,000 and 2,000lbs. of TNT - "Well Mrs. Kreski, that's the wrong answer so we can't give you the Landing Gear... but if you answer this Bonus Question, we'll Foam the Runway..."

'Name that Disease' Where contestants are injected with a Fatal Disease and answer questions for the Antedote or Cure.

or

'Catch it... and you keep it' Where contestants (in costume) vie for prizes thrown from the top of the Empire State Bldg. which if you catch it, you keep it... incl. the Grand Prize of a 4-bedroom Brick Bungalow !

"Mrs. Byoloski... in the Bonus Round we have some great prizes for you... $1,000,000 in Cash, a 20 Carat Diamond Ring, or a special Bag with some really Great Sh*t... !

Mrs. Byoloski, which will it be...???

I'll take the Bag... I'll take the Bag...

Here you go Mrs. Byoloski...

Why... it's a Bag of Sh*t... !!

Yes... Mrs. Byoloski... but it's really Great Sh*t... !!"

Classic Stuff !!

R.I.P. Harry !!

Thanks for the Laughs.. !!

cheers!
