I can actually get a similar effect on my Roland VG unit with polyphonic pitch shift, this is a quick demo with an expression pedal transposing between open Emin and Amin

It's certainly more bulky than a B-Bender.Since a Les Paul is generally a bit on the heavy side,the addition of all that extra hardware must make it a cumbersome instrument to play while standing so the player would probably be relegated to sitting whenever he played it.

Interesting idea. I guess for those who'd like a pedal steel but don't have the space. I can see that set-up being very versatile for a creative player. What sort of price are they?

Maybe a beater guitar that wouldn't matter if it was messed with. I certainly wouldn't do it to a Les Paul Custom.
