Just got this about an hour ago. Have not plugged it in so I will go and do that now. I will leave a very nice sweetwater pic of it.

More later. :D

Congrats on your new amp, these amps are getting great reviews in guitar mags. The whole Hughes-Kettner product line has a sterling reputation.

Congrats! Yeah, the $100 price drop to $299 sure makes it look like a good buy.
Single power tube implies real class A, I guess?
And I like that it comes with a power sink so you can crank it up at low volume.
But can you disable that glow?

Is it bluesy? Might be a more affordable alternative to the VOX Night Train I am GASing for!

I am still playing with it. The 12BH7 tube for power makes the tone different than el84's or 6v6's. Glassy cleans and great crunch with a dimed normal channel and the drive channel. So far only played through my 12" CRex. Only a half hour of play time. Going to back and play some more and share later.

I got it mainly for recording or late night playing. I think this was 300.00 well spent.

Light does not disable without 'modding' it with a switch. I like it. :D

The youtubes on this 5 watt give a decent idea of the sound. The sound from the red box with the 4x12 simulation sounded very bluesy. The red box was a real plus for me and a primary reason to buy this amp. It will make a great bedroom amp all around. It will sit on top on my Musty 1, that is sorta replacing.

Man, that just ain't right.

More story once one develops from playing it.

This is a very nice amplifier. The drive channel relates well to the clean channel. No wild EQ swings like the HRDIII. Tried it through my Alnico Red Fang 10". Sounded like a toy compared to the CRex. Also, paper just sounds thin and, well, papery  after listening to the same amp through a hemp speaker. I'll try the lil buddy tomorrow. See how a 10" hemp speaker sounds. Not to mention. the lil buddy is broken in.

I'll play with the red box output tonight.

I have a bugera V5. It is going to be sold. I have the 5 watt amp I want now. :D

Haven't plugged in yet, but here it is sitting on my computer tower with my Lexicon Alpha on top. I have the red box plugged into the Alpha and then I can play this sweet thing with headphones. Or record. :D

I've tried those--they sound great and then you hit the Drive button and it's even better.

Nice amp-
Enjoy!

nice !

interestingly, the 12BH7 is the same power tube my(the) Blackstar HT5 uses, and the ecc83 preamp as well.
score a NOS USA Tung Sol 12BH7 & it'll become a freaking MONSTER in a small package !

I push a NOS Mullard ecc82 (I like mellower pre-amp) thru the Tung Sol power tube and it's mighty sweet!
