I need to purchase a humidifier for our "Music Room" and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions based on personal experiences? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg but obviously don't want something that is sub par quality wise. The room that I will be using it in is about 250 sq feet. Any input would be appreciated!

I have a Honeywell cool mist humidifier and I like it quite a lot. You can select what level of humidity you want in five percent increments. When it gets to the level you want it kicks off until the humidity drops back down. You should bear in mind that if you have forced air heating (or central air-conditioning) you will be humidifying your whole house as the heating system will distribute the humidity around the entire air space of the dwelling. If you have radiator heat you can contain the humidity in one room by keeping the door to the room closed.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Oh I don't know it depends on what you have in the music room or the state of the whole house moisture wise. One can buy sheet music that is treated or laminated so it doesn't age due to moisture. If you want to keep an instrument in the same shape forever, well sorry but that can't be done.
