First i sanded it down to a brushed steel look assuming the paint would take better to a rough surface. Then I used a sponge and acrylic paint dabbing the pedal to give it the textured look. The controls labels are done with a acrylic paint marker, I put a single coat of sealer on it before putting it back together. I only coated it once with the sealer so it wouldn't be to glossy. I might end up doing more yet

I hate to say this, but I do not see this as an improvement.
Hopefully you had fun, and a good learning experience.

I dont really like the labeling I do like the way the red turned out tho. Just for the recored I don't really care too much what a pedal look like that's why I didn't care about trying to paint it. Still sounds good

For reference, so others can judge whether you made an improvement, here's what a new one looks like:

I didn't say I improved it I said I painted it but I dint say I improved it.
And that ones new I bought mine used so it was a bit scratched up and not shinny at all. And why do you seem to care so much I painted my own pedal.
Also like I already said I don't care what a pedal looks like lol looks got nothing to do with what it sounds like

Okay, I don't get it. You painted it 'cause you don't care what it looks like... Okay, that makes sense now. Wait... no, it doesn't. Oh, well.

And yet, you wanted to share your efforts with us.

You should have added a poll.

I painted it for something to do not because I care what it looks like. I guess I more so meant I didn't care what it really came out looking like as looks got nothing to do with the sound of a pedal. And yes I shared it too see what people think it don't bother me that people don't like it either your entitled to your own opinion's.

You made your pedal your own...as they say down under, Goodonya!

I "customized" a couple of my stompboxes...the Crybaby and the MXR Phase 90, specifically...

Thank you--nobody seems to think I'm famous enough to deserve my own signature wah or phase shifter, so I made my own...

I added the little Freddie Armadillos (our mascot's name is Freddie, after Mr. King) to the Phase 90 later (zoom in on the top picture)...

I was thinking about painting my fullbore metal pedal the same way but with black and no or different labeling

It looks much better, good job. 8) Seriously, now its not just some shiny, generic dime-a-dozen pedal billboard for that guy with that band.
