I recently bought a TC Alter Ego...it's a TC Flashback custom made for ProGuitarShop.com.

I really like it, except in any light except bright store lighting or daylight close up, the white script on the mustard pedal becomes unreadable. The exceptionally bright LED does not help as that becomes all you can see. The knob labels are fine except the knob that selects the style of delay as it has the smaller script.

Any easy and quick solutions for either repainting or relabelling the pedal?

Actually leaning toward label maker after some more thought.

I have a Brother P Touch label maker that I use for my BYOC pedals. I'd go label maker. You can remove them if you ever decide or need to sell the pedal without disfiguring it.

+1
Yep. I only paint or mark on a pedal I know will never leave my possession.

Finally got around to this and while everything is not perfectly straight, it is all 100% readable and an improvement!

That looks horrible. I would prefer to memorize the settings, which over time will be much easier to do as you get real familiar with the pedal.

Hey, if it works, that's the main point! While I appreciate aestethics, they should always come second.
Whitish print on yellow wasn't exactly a good decision by ProGuitaShiop. They could have outlined the white with a dark color and made it immensely more readable.

But there's one change I recommend: Tear off the sticker saying "ALTER EGO". It's not like you're going to mistake it for another pedal.

The "Alter Ego" was the first label I made to get an idea of font size.

I really only needed the labels for the delay types as obviously I could remember which ones mix, regen, and delay were.

It's ugly, but much more functional.

Fact is, who's going to see it but the OP? Check out Joe Bonamassa's board. He's got black tape all over the knobs. Makes no difference, it a function thing, not a beauty or status thing.
Anything's better than painting it, just in case you get tired of it and want to sell it.

I just recently put labels on all my BYOC pedals. Before that, nobody even knew what the pedal did or where the in/out jacks were except me. I just labeled them a couple of weeks ago because like most things, building pedals has become an obsession with me and too many of them look the same with the same knob configuration. I getting too old to remember what's what. Myself, I have nothing to prove and I don't care who I impress or who I don't. If it works for you, it's always a good thing.
