Congrats on your new bass.Besides being great guitars,Ibanez basses are among the coolest and most modern looking ones on the market today-the finish is great looking too. The guy who plays bass in my nephew's band has several basses from different makers but one of his fretless basses is one just like yours and she sounds like electric thunder.Ibanez makes great guitars and basses, a couple of months ago,I bought my first Ibanez guitar,an AFS-75-T and it's an incredible instrument too.

Speaking of Ibanez, If I'm finally able to get a hollowbody bass (which I've wanted forever,) I've had my eye on this model: Image

There was a demo of this online with the guy playing through an Acoustic bass amp and it sounded pretty sweet to me.

I've played those--they're quite nice.
They also have made hollowbody basses with fixed bridges--and I've even seen an Ibanez hollowbody, fixed bridge fretless a few years ago Probably about three years)
The store it was at had it on what they called Dutch Auction.
Every week they were lowering the price 5% until it sold.
I was waiting for it to get to a certain price I could afford at the time, but someone bought it before that happened.
But that is what planted the idea of getting a fretless bass in me.
and then about a year and a half ago I started getting more serious about it.

they are short scale basses if that matters.

Yeah, I know the bass you're talking about, but I never knew about a fretless model. I must have missed that one. Short scale doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I like them quite a bit because of their certain tonality and they are pretty fast necks. I once played on a Hofner copy that was in a shop (a Jay Turser, or something like that) and I could slide up and down that neck like it was nothing. The thing was so light and tiny, it was awkward at first. It actually sounded pretty decent, too. I think it needed some flats for that classic "thump." though.
