Why not start by prioritizing your immediate gear needs?

If you need some new effects, pick up sack full of stompboxes and get them mounted on your pedal board.

If there's a hole in your guitar collection that can only be filled by a (insert brand/type here), treat yourself to whatever it takes to satisfy your sonic craving.

If your aging amp is one service call away from ending up as landfill fodder, perhaps it's time for an upgrade to a better model.

For most working musicians, it's all about priorities.

With minimal facts, I'd probably go with the guitar unless you have some type of gig you do routinely and and have no amp to cover. For instance, the last time I bought an amp was because I was playing bars with no amp mic'ing and a loud guitarist and drummer. My Bassman 250/210 wasn't cutting it (great for quite room Jazz, etc.) and since this was an ongoing gig, I had to getting something with a bit more power to be heard.

However, there are many kinds of guitars, even if you're only interested in electric. Semi-hollow, hollow, etc., etc. So as I said, barring a need for an amp I don't have (and would't just need for a couple of times), I go with the guitar.

I have an assortment of weaponry to suit many styles. But I hanker over a Super Reverb - Just for 'THAT' sound.

It's all about the sound.

The Trad Pro is an awesome weapon. So is the Reverb

I would go with the Les Paul Traditional. I just picked up another one for my birthday a few weeks ago. Traditionals are awesome guitars when you find the right one that suits you. Here is something for you to think about, my Faded Honeyburst and my Chicago Blue Trads.

You sound ambivalent about what you want to buy, like there's nothing you are really burning for, just looking for something different.

When I turned 40, I already had more guitars and amps than I could really justify, even though I was in a solid band and playing out every weekend. I bought myself this instead!

Mid-life crisis, who knows? But I was definitely burning for a Corvette! It's not a red convertible, but it was an awesome investment.

Maybe 1977?
350LT1 and a Muncie M21 4-speed?

Make a price that you're willing to spend, then find both that you really like and stay within your budget.

Don't listen to this guy. Spend the next month's rent money on guitars. You know you want to.

1974 Corvettes used a two-piece horizontally-split rear bumper fascia, 1975 was the last year that the car was called a "Stingray", and 1977 cars had blacked-out windshield pillars and moldings.

An alternative suggestion, though perhaps too similar in nature to your Vibro Champ:

The Swart Space Tone 6V6se. If purchased together with the Swart Night Light attenuator (see the Swart website), you'd be well within your budget, allowing for future expenditures rolling tubes (the amp is self-biasing) and setting yourself up for years of fun chasing sweet tones with your already impressive stable of instruments. Pretty much an ideal toy for the home hobbyist. After all, aren't birthdays gifts all about toys?
Cheers!

You mean the non-recessed, sorta bubble rear window, I guess.
My bad. I thought that started in '79.

I haven't bought anything yet. My birthday isn't until May. I'm the type of guy that has to research till no end before I buy something. That's why I am started this topic "early."

CRGuitarman and TA462, you guys are killing me! Those rides are sweet.

I've always been partial to these. No it's not mine.
