Also, Guitar Center is closing out new (but 2013 model) Les Paul full-blown Standards at only $1850 for the Desert Burst or Cherry Sunburst. What a screaming deal that is ... You can thank me later.

Other dealers still have a few in stock at lowered prices too. And if getting a 2013, you avoid the godawful "120 years" mother-of-toilet-seat marker that replaces the 12th fret bar or dots on the 2014 model.

Me, I'd get a Rickenbacker, but that's me, and not the OP.

Normally I'd say an amp. But since you have two amps now, get a third guitar. Guitars can be more versatile so if you have three guitars, you can set the settings for each one, and just pick up one of the three to play as they're set. I like the 12th fret "120 Year Anniversary" on my Gibson 2014 SG Std. Bass. Walnut. Image

Sadly, neither a new guitar or amp will buy back your youth :(
For that you'll need a red convertible
A high quality acoustic would also be my choice. With age, comes the necessary discipline to master such an instrument. Anyhow, have fun choosing.
Goodonya ...Mark.

I really love my Les Paul standard thru my fender deluxe RI. The cleans are beefy, and to die for, and cranked up its great for blues. You can always get an attenuator if its too loud.
Lots of my favorite players use a LP standard with a Fender deluxe.
Like some one else said. Buy a convertible.....
I've got both.

Depends what the two guitars are and what the two amps are and what the third guitar/amp would be. Right now we don't have enough information to form an opinion.

That was my thought--for me it would have been tough--as I didn't have two amps until I had two guitars and a bass (And I had one amp, but needed a bass amp)
When I got a second guitar amp (And third overall) I had 4 guitars & a bass.

Heck, I think you should play everything you possibly can--amps and guitars (even throw in some acoustics for the heck of it)... Twice!

Then when you find something you really like, go back and play everything you liked almost as much the second time around, then sleep on it. Then play the other thing a few more times. Then decide.

Then bring it home, take some shots of it and post the pictures!

I have a LP traditional pro and love it. It's my main guitar at the moment.

I wouldn't buy a Gibson if I already owned a real PRS, but it's always been "get a better one than the last one" for me. You've got the tone thing probably nailed with the two amps you have. You've got a healthy Strat. I think you're on here just to brag. I would, too.

+1 (touche for the 12th fret) :D

An LP has a unique sound and playability as does the Deluxe Reverb. In that order of acquisition. Get used to one then get to use the other. :D

Why? The two are very dissimilar. The only similarity is that both tend to favor HH, but there it stops. Neck radiuses, nut widths, fret sizes, bridge systems, body resonance, neck weight and stiffness, it's all about as different as you can get.

I'd say a Vibro Champ and Twin Reverb would be much more similar. That's a bigger cousin but still close family, while the PRS to Gibson is a step sideways, across seven streets into a different neighborhood.

Are you comfortable with working on electronics? If so, the best gift would be that Tweed Deluxe you build for yourself. Very simple and yet rewarding.

Fender Twin Reverbs are the cream of the crop in guitar amps, with just about any 6 stringer. 8)

From looking at the gear in your signature block; it seems like what you need is a really good modeling amp or floorboard. Your Peavey Classic 50 could be any amp you want it to be with a floorboard like a POD HD, ZOOM or BOSS or even the Fender Mustang Floor especially if you like Fender cleans.

You have SSS and HH solid body guitars... so if treating yourself to a third axe I would be looking at something in a semi-hollow or hollow body like a Gretsch or, if you are really treating yourself, a Rickenbacker!

Hmmm a semi hollow body isn't a bad idea. Thanks for everyone's opinions as I value them all. I'll post pics once I decide.
