If so, then I would suggest there isn't anything demonstrated in the video that the Pitchfactor can't do better, IMO.

Ha - that one's new on me. I get the point - but ultimately it's just a glorified Whammy pedal, isn't it? More accurate and controllable, no doubt - and substantially more expensive.

I've never owned a Whammy, but my lil' ol' Boss ME-50 multi-FX unit has a pitch shifter amongst its box of tricks and it seems to work just fine, if that's the kind of tool you need. You can shift the guitar's tuning up to an octave above or below, and of course do those puke inducing dives if you feel you must.

I expect lots of other multi-FX toys also have pitch shifters on board - or a genuine Whammy pedal is not ridiculously expensive either.

Many routes to the same destination.

Cheers - C

I don't know about all of the pedals mentioned above, I'm looking solely for analog pitch transposing, ideally in a form of a device. I don't want a whammy pedal, multi-effect pedal or a pedal that sounds like an organ. I'm looking for something that can mimic a guitar tuned down real low, play certain notes and chords etc. etc. :|

Well, you said MXR M-129 and that's what is in the video. Maybe take another look?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

But, Jim, that is exactly what the whammy and several others mentioned do. They're pitch shifters - the clue is in the title.

You asked for a pitch shifter: many options have been offered.

And cheapest and easiest of all, there's always the tuning pegs on your guitar. A lot of people find those handy for shifting pitch...

Beginning to look that way.

The pedal you want is a Morpheus drop tune.

I have one and they are very good.

It will drop in half step intervals down to an octave down.

They also make a capo pedal that raises the pitch.

Then why don't you track down a vintage MXR unit like the one you're requesting, since that seems to be the only thing that will make you happy...trying to understand what you want is like trying to smell the color 9.

Inarticulate + Stubbornness + Unrealistic Expectations = Unhappy Person
