Hey!

I posted last week a small video of myself covering Vultures by John Mayer. It would be nice if you could criticise my playing and tell me what I should improve because my goal is to be a really good player in ten years time. I dedicate all my spare time to music.
It would be really cool if you could like the video, subscribe to my channel and share with your friends :)
I hope you will enjoy!

OK first of all, you're holding the guitar wrong, the neck is supposed to face the other way .... j/k Sounds nice, how long have you been playing?

For your style, I can't suggest listening to almost anything made or recorded, past 1980. There are some exceptions I would recommend(Stevie Rae Vaughan, Slash, Dereck Trucks. The pre-80 stuff I'd suggest specifically for you would be Lindsey Buckingham, Hendrix, ZZTop, Clapton. Live that stuff.

I started playing guitar 5 years ago but I was playing at that time Clarinet for 5 years.
Guitar playing became my obsession when I first listened to Clapton playing Layla.
I was like : Wow! I wanna become as good as him *O*
So I started taking lessons with a teacher who likes Blues. I stopped taking lessons last september and now I am trying to find a way to get more technique.
I listen a lot to Clapton/Mayer/Red Hot Chili Peppers/SRV.

Your technique is damn good. Your timing is pretty good too, maybe just pay more attention to the beat, and to how thorough/complete each phrase you play is. Your vibrato is good now, but I can tell it's gonna be amazing soon.

Stick with those good influences..

You have the goods. Keep playing. Don't forget to play with other people too.

Okay first off I did not listen to your video because there are far too many of you's out there who aren't professional musicians but get exposure anyway.

Nice rhythm chops. Phil Guy and Malcolm Young would be proud.

Keep it up--you have some really nice technique...it sounded "real" and smooth, not by-the-dots techno-robotic like many younger players.

Share some more as you finish them! Good job.

Thanks a lot :)
I still really need to improve it a lot and also get some knowledge on soloing because I am only starting.

Playing with people is what I am really looking for now. I feel better playing in a band than alone.

Thanks!
I really love the John Mayer and SRV groove. I like working on them because you really feel the rythm.

Have you seen the Albert King/SRV hour PBS special from the early 1980's? That'll surely get you thinkin' about solos.
